CHANGELOG

The beta,
in the open.

Release status, useful changes and the limits still on the list.

Beta 3 — less peeking, more knowing

The Peek-o-Meter scores observed concern from 0 to 100. It is not a system-cleanliness score, cheating probability or exam clearance. Missing coverage, stale samples, paused monitoring, demo data and imported history stay explicit.

Live metadata checks watch bounded screenshot folders and known capture/sharing executable names every five seconds, independently of EDID collection. Clipboard image-format checks are optional and off by default; Linux clipboard monitoring is unavailable.

A screenshot-like file may have been copied, and an open application may be idle. No screen or clipboard contents are read. Reliable system-wide capture absence cannot be established.

Mac screenshot-file, executable-name and optional metadata-marker probes were exercised. Clipboard adapters have fixture coverage; Windows and Linux native execution remain untested.

Beta 2 — more ways to see

English, Persian, Spanish, French, Hebrew, Simplified Chinese and Japanese are available on the website and in the tool. Persian and Hebrew use right-to-left layouts.

Appearance settings include system, light, dark and high contrast, with text size, reduced motion and underlined links. Preferences stay on your device. Original evidence is preserved.

These translations have not yet had professional review. Manual VoiceOver and NVDA testing is still pending; no accessibility certification is claimed.

Beta 1 — a local foundation

The first packaged beta brings the shared research core and local dashboard together with explicit platform coverage.

Display evidence

  • Raw EDID preservation, block checksums and partial base/CTA parsing.
  • OS-reported identity, active settings and layout where exposed.
  • Baseline comparisons with readable fields and byte offsets.
  • Explainable rules, event timeline and configurable retention.
  • Local history, import/export, representative demo data and replay.

macOS collection improvements

  • Apple Silicon transport EDID alongside legacy IODisplayEDID.
  • Strict System Profiler matching for names, serials and firmware.
  • Separate OS identity when raw EDID is unavailable.
  • Verified one real Pro Display XDR profile and its exact raw download.

Distribution and identity

  • Portable package with OS-specific live launchers.
  • Python wheel and source archive, with SHA-256 checksums.
  • Initial Mac app packaging where available on the download page.
  • Three logo concepts, with Signal Fingerprint selected for the beta.

Still incomplete

Windows/Linux hardware testing, additional Mac configurations, physical hotplug validation, native packaging/signing, Wayland layout, full DisplayID decoding and reliable global recording/sharing detection remain incomplete or unavailable. See the current support matrix.
